Invite-only scripts: publish a script and choose who may use it

Publish invite-only scripts in SuperCharting: hide the code, share the script with named accounts only, and change who is invited when you publish an update.

An invite-only script is a published script that only you and the accounts you name can find, open and run. The code stays hidden from everyone but you, even from the people you invite: they can add the script to their charts and change its inputs, nothing more. It is the option to use for a paid course, a trading group or a client who should get your tool without getting your code.

Pine Script is TradingView's language; SuperCharting publishes Pine-compatible scripts.

How invite-only differs from the other choices

When you publish from the Script Editor, the Visibility row has three buttons:

An invite-only script is never open source. For anyone else it does not show in any list or search, and a direct link to its page answers "This script is invite-only. Ask its author, your name, for an invitation." If an uninvited account somehow has it on a chart, the chart shows that sentence instead of a plot. The broader library is described in community scripts library.

How to publish an invite-only script in SuperCharting

  1. Finish the script in the Script Editor and give it a clear title in indicator() or strategy(). The console must show the ✓ line.
  2. Put it on a chart that shows it well, for example NSE:NIFTY on 15 minutes. The script's picture is drawn from that chart.
  3. Click Publish script, keep Publish new script, write a description of at least 20 characters and click Continue.
  4. Under Final touches, click Invite-only in the Visibility row. An Invited users field appears.
  5. Type the SuperCharting user names of the people to invite, separated by commas, for example ravi_k, meera.trades, desk3.
  6. Choose up to 3 categories and, if you like, tags. Tick the House Rules box and click the publish button.

The script's page opens in a new tab. As the author you see an "Invite-only script" tag and an "Invited:" tag with the names on the list.

Rules for the invited list

Ask your members for their exact user name before you publish. It is the name they sign in with, not their display name elsewhere.

What invited users see

An invited user finds the script in the Indicators dialog under Invite-only, a section that lists the scripts other users have shared with them. From there one click adds it to the active chart. They can open its page and change its inputs and style, and if it is a strategy they get the full Strategy Tester report on their own symbol. They cannot see or copy the code: the code is never sent to their browser. Because of that, alerts based on a hidden-code script's conditions are not available today.

Invited users are not sent a notice when you add them. Tell them yourself that the script is waiting in Indicators > Invite-only.

Changing who is invited

To add or remove people, publish an update with the new list:

  1. Open the script's code in the Script Editor and click Publish script.
  2. Choose Update existing script and pick the script from Your published scripts, then click Continue.
  3. Under Final touches, click Invite-only again (the update starts from Protected) and type the complete new list of names.
  4. Publish. The list you enter replaces the old one, so include everyone who should keep access.

The update keeps the script's page, boosts and favourites. Someone you remove loses access straight away: the script leaves their Invite-only list, its page refuses them, and it stops running on their charts.

To end access for everyone, unpublish the script from My publications in the Community panel.

A worked example

Say you teach a weekly session on intraday levels for NSE:BANKNIFTY and want your eight students to use your "Opening Range Levels" indicator.

  1. Collect the eight user names.
  2. Publish the indicator as Invite-only with those names.
  3. Send the students a message: "Open Indicators, then Invite-only, and add Opening Range Levels."
  4. When a ninth student joins, publish an update with all nine names.

Keep your description practical: what the levels mean, which timeframes the script was built for and what the inputs change. Do not promise results; your students' outcomes depend on how they trade.

Publishing invite-only scripts is part of every account, and SuperCharting is currently free to use.

Frequently asked questions

Can an invited user share the script with someone else?

No. Only the author can change the list, and the code is never shown to invited users.

Can I make an invite-only script public later?

Yes. Publish an update and choose Open or Protected instead. It then appears in the library for everyone.

Can I invite people who do not have an account yet?

Not yet. Ask them to create an account first, then add their user name in an update.

Do invite-only scripts count towards my publishing limit?

Yes. Every published script counts towards the 100 per account, whatever its visibility.
