Browser charting platform: trading charts with no install, any device

A browser charting platform for desktop and phone: no download, layouts saved to your account, and alerts that keep running after you close the tab.

SuperCharting is a browser charting platform: the whole workstation (charts, indicators, scripts, the Strategy Tester, replay and alerts) opens in a browser tab, on a desktop or a phone, with nothing to download. Your charts, indicators, drawings and layouts are saved to your account, so the same setup is there on the next device you sign in from.

Why chart in the browser

A charting program you install has to be updated, kept on one machine and set up again on the next one. A browser platform avoids that:

What you get on a desktop browser

On a laptop or desktop the screen is laid out like a full trading terminal:

The mouse works as you would expect: the wheel zooms around the cursor, dragging pans, dragging the price scale stretches it and dragging the time scale zooms in or out. Double-click a scale to reset it.

Keyboard shortcuts worth learning

ShortcutAction

Shift + RBar Replay on or off
Ctrl + SSave layout
Alt + RReset the chart view

The full list is under Keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + /) in the main menu.

What changes on a phone

On a screen narrower than 760 pixels the desk keeps the chart as large as possible:

Drag with a finger to scroll back in time, and drag the price or time scale to zoom. Drawing tools explains drawing with taps.

How layouts are saved to your account

Every change you make (a new indicator, a moved trend line, a different interval) is saved to your account a moment later. On top of that you can keep several named layouts:

  1. Open Manage layouts, the small arrow next to the layout name in the top toolbar.
  2. Choose Create new layout…, type a name such as "Gold 4h" and press Create.
  3. Build the charts you want, then press Save layout or Ctrl + S.
  4. With Autosave switched on (the default), the layout keeps itself up to date as you work.
  5. To switch, open Manage layouts again and pick one under Recently used, or choose Open layout… to search all of them by name.

Make a copy… duplicates the current layout under a new name and Rename… changes its name. Multi-chart layouts covers grids of up to 16 charts.

How to start charting in the browser in SuperCharting

  1. Go to /signup on any current browser and create a free account with your user name and the 6-digit email code.
  2. Sign in. The desk opens with your last layout, or a single chart for a new account.
  3. Press Ctrl + K (or click the symbol name), type RELIANCE and pick NSE:RELIANCE.
  4. Open the interval button and choose 1 hour.
  5. Sign in on your phone with the same account: NSE:RELIANCE on 1 hour is already there, with the same indicators and drawings.

Example: a desk you take with you

At your desk, build a two-chart layout: EURUSD on 4 hours on the left, EURUSD on 15 minutes on the right, with an EMA on both and a horizontal line at 1.0850. Save it as "EURUSD swing". On the train, open the site on your phone and choose that layout: both charts and the line are there. If price crosses 1.0850 while the phone is locked, the alert you set still fires.

Frequently asked questions

Which browsers does it work in?

SuperCharting runs in current versions of the common desktop and phone browsers. It needs JavaScript switched on.

Is there anything to download?

No. Charts can be saved as images with Take a snapshot, and bars can be saved as a CSV file with chart data export, but the platform itself needs no download.

Will my layout look the same on my phone?

It holds the same charts, indicators and drawings, and the toolbars are trimmed as described above. A grid keeps its arrangement, so on a phone a layout of one or two charts is the easiest to read.

What happens if I open too many tabs?

Each account can keep 200 chart pages open at once. Past that, the newest page shows a message saying the limit is reached; close another SuperCharting tab and it can connect.

Try it on a live chart

SuperCharting runs in your browser: charts, Pine-compatible scripts, the Strategy Tester, alerts and the screener, with Indian and global markets.
