Stock screener: filter Indian and global stocks with ratio queries
Use the SuperCharting stock screener with screener.in-style queries such as ROE > 20 AND P/E < 15, filter chips, column sets and seven country markets.
The SuperCharting stock screener lists the stocks of a market in a sortable table and narrows them down with filter chips or a typed query such as Market cap > 500 AND ROE > 20 AND P/E < 15. It covers India, the US, the UK, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia and an "Entire world" view, and a click on any row loads that stock on your chart and opens its company page.
Opening the screener
Press Screeners on the right-hand widget bar (or open Products > Screeners). The panel opens beside the chart with:
- the screen title, All stocks, with a menu of ready-made and saved screens,
- a row of filter chips, starting with the market chip,
- the view switch (Table, Chart and Heat map), the column set button, Refresh and Maximize,
- the results table, with the number of matching stocks next to the column headers.
The market you pick is remembered for your account. The screener shows the first 150 rows of a result in the chosen sort order; narrow the filters to see the rest.
Markets, column sets and views
Markets: US, India, UK, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, Entire world, and Bonds. Bonds turns the panel into the bond screener.
Column sets decide which numbers you see:
| Column set | Columns |
|---|---|
| Overview | Price, Chg %, Vol, Rel vol, Mkt cap, P/E, EPS dil (TTM), EPS dil growth, Div yield %, Sector, Analyst rating |
| Performance | Price, Chg %, Perf % over 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, YTD and 1Y, 1-month volatility |
| Valuation | Price, Mkt cap, P/E, PEG, P/S, P/B, EV/EBITDA |
| Dividends | Price, Div yield % (TTM and forward), payout ratio, dividend per share |
Click a column header to sort by it; click again to reverse. Clicking the Symbol header opens a search box to find a name in the result.
Views: Table is the default. Chart view shows one card per stock with its performance bars from 1W to 1Y. Heat map view shows tiles sized by market cap and coloured by the day's change. The views use the columns they need and switch the column set when necessary.
Filter chips
Each chip offers a few preset ranges:
- Price: under 5, 5 to 20, 20 to 100, above 100.
- Chg %: up 5% and more, up, down, down 5% and more.
- Mkt cap: mega, large, mid, small and micro bands.
- P/E, PEG and Beta ranges; EPS dil growth, Revenue growth and ROE above a level, positive or negative; Div yield % above 0, 2 or 5%.
- Sector: the 19 sector groups, from Commercial Services to Utilities.
- Analyst rating and Perf % over one month.
The Watchlist, Index and earnings-date chips, and the AI chip, are shown for orientation but say "Not available in SuperCharting" when clicked.
How to run a query screen in SuperCharting
Queries work like the screens on screener.in: you type ratios, an operator and a number.
- Open Screeners and set the market chip to India.
- Click the title All stocks and choose Custom query….
- Type one condition per line, or join them with AND, for example:
Market cap > 1000
ROCE > 20
Debt to equity < 0.5
Sales growth 5years > 12
- Press Run this query, or give it a name and press Save and run.
- The table now lists only the matching stocks, and each ratio you used is added as a column so you can sort by it.
- Click any row: the stock opens on the active chart and its company page opens with ratios, results and peers. See Indian stocks fundamentals.
Query rules
- Operators:
>,<,>=,<=and=. Conditions are combined with AND only; there is no OR. - Up to 12 conditions and 600 characters.
- Amounts such as Market cap, Sales, Net profit, EBITDA, Free cash flow and Debt are typed in Rs. crores on the India market and in millions of the local currency elsewhere.
Market cap > 500on India means above ₹500 crore. - Percentages are typed as plain numbers:
ROE > 20means 20%. - A ratio the screener does not know is reported as "Unknown ratio", with its name, so you can fix the spelling.
Names you can use include Market cap, Price, P/E, P/B, P/S, PEG, EV/EBITDA, ROE, ROCE, ROIC, ROA, Dividend yield, Dividend payout, Debt to equity, Current ratio, Quick ratio, Interest coverage, Sales, Net profit, EBITDA, Free cash flow, Debt, OPM, NPM, Gross margin, EPS, EPS growth, Sales growth, Profit growth, Sales growth 5years, Profit growth 5years, QoQ sales, QoQ profits, YOY quarterly sales growth, YOY quarterly profit growth, Book value, Piotroski score, Graham number, Free float, Volume, RSI, Beta, High price, Low price and Return over 1month, 3months, 6months, 1year, 3years or 5years.
Ready-made and saved screens
The title menu lists ready-made screens you can start from: Low P/E, high ROE; Growth stocks; High dividend yield; Debt free, high ROCE; Quarterly growers; Piotroski 8 and 9; and 5-year compounders. Your saved screens appear above them, and Delete a saved screen… removes one. All stocks clears the query.
Where the numbers come from
Prices and ratios come from a public market-data feed and are refreshed about once a minute, so screener prices can lag the live chart, and on some exchanges quotes from this feed are delayed. Fundamentals follow the companies' reported results, so new quarters appear once the feed has them. Always check a number on the company page or the filing before relying on it. The screener is a research tool: a stock appearing in a screen is not a recommendation.
To follow the names you find, add them to a list in the watchlist and set a watchlist alert, or open one on the chart and add a price alert.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use OR in a query?
No. Every condition must be true; conditions are joined by AND, and a new line counts as AND.
Why does Market cap > 500 return different stocks on the US market?
The unit changes with the market: crores of rupees on India, millions of the local currency elsewhere. On the US market 500 means 500 million dollars.
How many results does the screener show?
The table shows the first 150 matches in the current sort order, with the total count beside the headers.
Can I save my own screens?
Yes. Use Save and run in the query dialog; saved screens appear in the title menu.
Does a click open the stock on my chart?
Yes. A click loads the symbol on the active chart and opens its company page in the panel.
