Top gainers and losers today: market movers lists in SuperCharting
Find top gainers, top losers, most active, unusual volume and 52-week high stocks on NSE and other markets with SuperCharting's 22 market movers lists.
SuperCharting's Stock Screener has a Market movers menu with 22 ready-made lists, including Top gainers, Top losers, Most active, Unusual volume and 52-week high. Pick a market such as India, pick a list, and the table fills with the matching stocks in the list's own order; a click on any row loads that stock on your chart. The lists are currently free to use, like the rest of the screener.
The 22 market movers lists
Each list is a fixed filter plus a fixed sort. These are the exact names in the menu:
| List | Which stocks, and the sort |
|---|---|
| Top gainers / Top losers | up (or down) on the day, by day's change % |
| Most active | all, by value traded today |
| Unusual volume | all, by relative volume against the 10-day average |
| Most volatile | all, by today's volatility |
| 52-week high / 52-week low | price at or beyond the 52-week high (or low), largest market cap first |
| All-time high / All-time low | price at or beyond the all-time high (or low), largest market cap first |
| Overbought (RSI above 70) / Oversold (RSI below 30) | RSI(14) past the level, by RSI |
| Best performing, 1 year | all, by 1-year performance |
| Highest dividend yield | all, by current yield |
| Largest companies | all, by market cap |
| Small caps (300M to 2B) | market cap in that range, by market cap |
| Penny stocks (price under 5) | price under 5 with some volume, by volume |
| Highest price, Highest beta, Largest employers | all, by price, 1-year beta or employees |
| Highest revenue, Highest net income, Most cash | all, by trailing revenue, net income or cash |
When a list sorts by something the normal columns lack, its column is added to the table (Value traded, Volatility, 52W high, RSI, Beta, Employees and so on). Unusual volume uses the Rel vol column already in the Overview set.
For Indian traders: size and price bounds are plain numbers in each market's own currency. On India, "Penny stocks" means under 5 rupees, and "Small caps (300M to 2B)" means 30 to 200 crore rupees, far smaller than what most Indian traders call a small cap.
Markets the lists cover
The lists work on every stock market in the screener: US, India, UK, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia and Entire world. India includes NSE and BSE listings, and only primary listings are shown, so a company does not appear twice. For Indian charts in general, see NSE charts for NIFTY and BANKNIFTY.
Not covered: the Bonds market has no Market movers menu, and the Crypto coins, Crypto pairs, Forex, Futures and ETFs (US) screeners have no movers lists. There you can click the Chg % column header to sort by the day's change by hand.
How to open a movers list in SuperCharting
- Press Screeners on the right-hand widget bar, or open Products > Screeners. The Stock Screener panel opens beside the chart.
- Click the market chip (the second chip, after ✦ AI) and choose a market, for example India.
- Click the title at the top left of the panel (it reads All stocks), then point at Market movers.
- Pick a list, for example Top gainers. The title changes to the list's name and the table reloads in that list's order.
- Click any row. The stock loads on your active chart and its company page opens.
- To return to the full market, choose All stocks from the title menu.
The count under the Symbol header shows how many stocks match; the table holds the first 150. Clicking another column header re-sorts the results, and clicking it again flips the order.
Combining movers with screener filters
A movers list keeps working with the filter chips (Price, Chg %, Mkt cap, P/E, Sector, Perf %, Beta and the rest) and with the symbol search box, so you can narrow a list down.
Two things reset a list: switching the market chip, and choosing Custom query…, a saved screen or a ready-made screen. The panel runs either a movers list or a typed query, not both. For ratio queries such as ROE > 20 AND P/E < 15, use the stock screener query screens.
Worked example: unusual volume on NSE with a big move
- Set the market chip to India.
- Choose Market movers > Unusual volume. The table is sorted by Rel vol, highest first.
- Click the Chg % chip and pick Up 5% and more.
- Optionally click Sector and pick one you follow, such as Finance.
- Click the top row. Say it shows Rel vol 4.2 and Chg % +7.8%: about four times its 10-day average volume, up 7.8% on the day.
- On the chart, switch to 5 minutes and see where the volume came in: one spike at the open, or steady buying all day. Add it to a list from there to follow it (see watchlists and watchlist alerts).
How traders use movers lists, and the traps
These lists are a starting point, not signals. Traders scan 52-week high for stocks leaving long ranges, check Most active to see where money is trading, and use Unusual volume to spot stocks where something changed. Overbought and Oversold sort by RSI; read the RSI indicator page first, because strong trends can stay above 70 for weeks.
The traps:
- Gaps. The change is measured from the previous close, so a stock that gapped up 9% and has been falling since still shows +6%. Check the intraday chart.
- Low liquidity. Top gainers and Penny stocks fill with thinly traded names that a few trades move several percent. Check the Vol column, or start from Most active.
- Circuit limits. On NSE and BSE, a stock locked at its upper or lower circuit tops the list but may have almost no sellers or buyers at that price.
- News. Unusual volume often follows results or an announcement. The list says something happened, not what.
A stock on a list is not a recommendation to buy or sell it.
How fresh the data is
The lists come from the same public market-data feed as the screener. Results are kept for 60 seconds, so everyone opening the same list within a minute sees the same snapshot, and the table does not update by itself: press the Refresh button at the right of the panel to reload. Screener prices follow each exchange's delay rules and can lag a chart fed by your broker connection, so confirm the price on the chart. If the feed is busy you may see "The data feed did not answer"; wait and press Refresh. To be told when a mover reaches a level, set a price alert.
Frequently asked questions
Where are the top gainers on NSE today?
Open Screeners, set the market chip to India, then choose Market movers > Top gainers from the title menu. It lists NSE and BSE stocks up on the day, highest change first.
Can I see gainers over a week or a month?
Not as a movers list: Top gainers and Top losers use the day's change. Choose All stocks, switch the column set button from Overview to Performance, and click the Perf % column marked 1W or 1M.
Are the lists live?
They are snapshots kept for up to 60 seconds and do not update by themselves; press Refresh for a new one. Prices follow the exchange's delay rules for this feed.
Is there a movers list for crypto or forex?
No. The crypto, forex, futures and ETF screeners have no Market movers menu, but you can sort them by their Chg % column.
