TradingView alternatives India: what Indian traders compare and why

TradingView alternatives in India compared fairly: broker charts, scanner sites, desktop software and SuperCharting, with what each type is good at.

Indian traders looking at TradingView alternatives in India usually end up choosing between four kinds of tools: the charts built into their broker's app, scanner and fundamentals websites, paid desktop analysis software, and browser workstations such as SuperCharting. Each type is good at something different. This page sets them side by side fairly, explains what to check in each, and shows where SuperCharting fits for someone who likes TradingView's way of working.

Why Indian traders look for TradingView alternatives

TradingView is widely used in India, and many traders are happy with it. People look elsewhere for a handful of reasons:

The right alternative depends on which of these is yours. TradingView's own plans and their limits are listed on its pricing page; TradingView's paid plans raise limits such as charts per tab and alert counts.

Broker trading platforms

If you trade with Zerodha, Angel One, Upstox, Dhan or FYERS, you already have charts in your broker's web and phone apps, and several brokers build them on TradingView's or other well-known charting libraries. Their strength is that the chart and the order window sit together. Check what the broker version leaves out compared with a full charting platform: how many charts per screen, what alert types are available, and whether you can run your own scripts or backtests.

Scanner and fundamentals sites

Screener.in is popular for company fundamentals and query-based screens; Chartink is known for technical scans on Indian stocks. They are excellent for finding candidates. Most traders still open a separate charting tool to study the chart, draw levels and set alerts.

Desktop analysis software

Programs such as AmiBroker and MetaStock run on your own computer, with their own formula languages and strong backtesting. They suit systematic traders who are happy to set up a data feed and maintain it. They are paid software, and data usually comes from a separate vendor.

MetaTrader 5

Many forex and CFD brokers offer MetaTrader 5. It is a trading terminal with its own scripting language, used mainly for currencies, gold and indices offered as CFDs. It is not usually how traders chart NSE stocks.

Where SuperCharting fits

SuperCharting is a browser workstation that follows TradingView's layout and tools closely, with Indian markets built in. For an Indian trader that means:

What it does not do: it is not your broker, so orders and positions stay in your broker's app; its community script library is small; and TV Pilot, the AI assistant, is switched on per account by the site owner. For a feature-by-feature view, see SuperCharting vs TradingView.

How to compare alternatives using SuperCharting

  1. Write down the three things you do every day, for example "watch BANKNIFTY 5m and 15m together", "alert at yesterday's high", "test an EMA rule on NIFTY daily".
  2. Create a free account at /signup.
  3. Click Layout setup, pick a 2-chart grid, and open NSE:BANKNIFTY on 5m and 15m. Switch on Symbol under Sync in layout so both follow when you change ticker.
  4. Click Create alert, set Crossing Up at yesterday's high, and choose Telegram or a toast for notifications.
  5. Paste a simple strategy into the Script Editor, click Add to chart on NSE:NIFTY 1D and read the Strategy Tester report.
  6. Do the same three tasks in your broker's charts and any other tool you are considering, and keep the one that does them with the least friction.

Example: a combined routine

A common Indian set-up is to screen with fundamentals in the evening and chart in the morning. In SuperCharting you can run the ready-made "Debt free, high ROCE" screen, read a result's company page, open that stock (say NSE:TCS) on a weekly chart, mark support with a horizontal line, and set an open-ended alert there, all in one tab. Whether that beats using two separate sites is a matter of taste.

Frequently asked questions

There is no single best one. Broker platforms are best for trading from the chart, scanner sites for finding stocks, desktop software for deep custom testing, and SuperCharting for TradingView-style charting, scripts and alerts at no cost today.

Is SuperCharting free for Indian traders?

Yes, currently. Every account gets the same limits and no paid plan is required today.
