Free charting software India: NSE, BSE and MCX charts in your browser
Free charting software for India: NSE, BSE and MCX charts, NIFTY and BANKNIFTY futures, an option chain and a fundamentals screener, in the browser.
SuperCharting is free charting software for India that runs in the browser: NSE, BSE and MCX symbols, NIFTY and BANKNIFTY with continuous futures, an option chain, and a stock screener with Indian fundamentals. It is currently free, needs no download, and the Indian data comes from the site's own Angel One feed, so you do not need to pay a broker for a data add-on to start.
What Indian traders need from free charting software
A trader in India usually needs four things that general-purpose chart sites do not always get right:
- Indian symbols the way you know them:
NSE:RELIANCE,BSE:SENSEX,NSE:NIFTY, futures such asNSE:NIFTY1!andMCX:GOLD1!, and option contracts. - The right session: candles that start at 09:15 IST and stop at 15:30 for NSE and BSE, not a chart that keeps printing after the close.
- F&O tools: an option chain to find the strike you want and open its chart.
- Fundamentals in crores: P/E, ROE, sales growth and quarterly results for Indian companies, in the units Indian investors use.
SuperCharting covers each of these, and the charting, scripts, backtests and alerts on top are the same as for every other market.
Indian markets in SuperCharting
Stocks, indices and futures
Search for any NSE or BSE stock by name or ticker. Indices use the familiar symbols: NSE:NIFTY, NSE:BANKNIFTY, NSE:CNXFINANCE (FINNIFTY) and BSE:SENSEX. Futures have continuous symbols, NSE:NIFTY1! for the front month and NSE:NIFTY2! for the next, plus each listed contract. MCX commodities work the same way, for example MCX:GOLD1! for the front gold contract. The NSE charts guide goes deeper into indices and rollover.
Sessions and live data
Live candles are built only inside exchange hours, in IST: NSE and BSE 09:15 to 15:30, currency derivatives 09:00 to 17:00 and MCX 09:00 to 23:55, Monday to Friday. A broker keeps sending the last price after the close; SuperCharting ignores it, so no stray candle appears at 16:00. Data is live when the market is open and the feed allows.
Option chain
Open Options from the Products menu in the right-hand widget bar, or choose the Options chip in Symbol Search. With NSE:NIFTY on the chart, the chain opens on NIFTY: a strip of expiry dates across the top, then Calls, Strike and Puts, with a line marking the live spot price and in-the-money strikes shaded. Click a call or put to open that contract's chart. The chain is a way to find and open contracts; it does not show open interest or Greeks columns. See options chain.
Screener and fundamentals
The Screeners panel has an India market with ready-made screens such as "Low P/E, high ROE" and "Debt free, high ROCE", and a query box in the style of screener.in, for example:
Market cap > 500 AND ROE > 20 AND P/E < 15
Amounts are in Rs. crores on the India market. Clicking a row opens a company page with key ratios, growth, quarterly results, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and industry peers. Shareholding patterns are not shown. More in Indian stocks fundamentals.

Example: an opening-range check
Many intraday traders mark the first 15 minutes. On NSE:RELIANCE 15m, draw a rectangle over the 09:15 candle's high and low, then set two price alerts: Crossing Up at the high and Crossing Down at the low, trigger Only Once. The alerts run on the site, so they still fire if your laptop goes to sleep. This is an example of a set-up, not a trade recommendation.
Your own broker connection
The Broker connections page (/brokers) lets you save the details of your own broker's developer app: Zerodha (Kite Connect), Angel One (SmartAPI), Dhan, Upstox, FYERS or another broker. Details are encrypted when saved and are never shown again; you choose whether the connection is for market data only or for data and orders. Your broker decides what its developer app costs; some charge for it. The charts work without one, using the site's feed. See broker connections.
Is it really free for Indian users?
Yes, currently. There is no paid plan you need today, and the limits are the same for every account: 16 charts per tab, 50 indicators per chart, 40,000 bars per chart and 1,000 price alerts. Paid plans may come later, and this page will say so if they do. There are no ads. If you are comparing options, TradingView alternatives in India looks at the other choices fairly.
