Searching for super charts live? SuperCharting (supercharting.com) gives live charts, scripts and alerts in your browser, currently free. A five-minute start.
If you searched for "super charts live", "supercharts" or "script chart live free", you may be looking for SuperCharting: a charting site in your browser with live charts, indicators, scripts and alerts. It lives at supercharting.com and is currently free to use. This page is a quick start. In about five minutes you will open a live chart, add a script and set an alert; the longer overview is in what is SuperCharting.
SuperCharting is supercharting.com and is not connected with other websites, apps or products that have similar names. If you were looking for one of those, check the web address before you sign in.
What "live" means here
A chart is live when its price bar moves as new quotes arrive. In SuperCharting that happens when the market is open and the feed for that symbol allows it. The source depends on the market:
- Indian markets (NSE, BSE, MCX and F&O) come from the site's Angel One feed.
- Forex, gold and CFDs such as XAUUSD and EURUSD come from broker feeds.
- Crypto such as BINANCE:BTCUSDT comes from the exchanges' public data and trades round the clock.
- Some other markets use public data, which can be delayed as the exchange requires.
Outside market hours a stock chart shows the last session's bars and waits for the next open. If you want something that moves at any hour, open a crypto chart. The data coverage page lists the markets and sources.
What you get, and what it costs
You get candles and 20 other chart types, drawing tools, more than 200 built-in indicators, a Script Editor for Pine-compatible scripts, a Strategy Tester, Bar Replay, a screener and alerts. SuperCharting is currently free: no paid plan is required today, and every account gets the same limits, including 16 charts per tab, 50 indicators per chart, 1,000 price alerts and alerts that do not expire. Paid plans may be introduced later, so this page says "currently".
How to open a live chart, add a script and set an alert in SuperCharting
Minute 1: create the account
- Go to /signup.
- Choose a user name and password, then type the 6-digit code that arrives by email.
- The desk opens with a chart. You do not need a broker account or a card.
Minute 2: open a live chart
- Click the symbol name at the top left of the chart.
- Type
BTCUSDTand pick BINANCE:BTCUSDT for a market that is always open. During Indian hours, typeNIFTYand pick NSE:NIFTY instead. - Click the interval button next to the symbol and choose 5 minutes.
Watch the last candle for a minute. Its close moves as quotes arrive, and a new candle starts every five minutes.
Minute 3: add an indicator
- Click Indicators.
- Type
RSIand click Relative strength index. It opens in its own pane under the price. - Hover the name in the legend and click the gear to change RSI Length if you want something other than 14.
Minute 4: add your own script
A script is a short program that draws on the chart. Press Ctrl + E to open the Script Editor, replace the text with the example below and wait for the green tick in the console:
//@version=6
indicator("EMA 20 and 50", overlay=true)
plot(ta.ema(close, 20), "EMA 20", color=color.orange)
plot(ta.ema(close, 50), "EMA 50", color=color.blue)
Click Add to chart. Two moving averages appear on the price. If the console shows an error, it names the line. To use someone else's script instead, open the Community button in the right-hand bar, search for a title and click Add to chart; see the community scripts library. The Pine Script editor guide covers saving and updating scripts.
Minute 5: set an alert
- Right-click the chart at the price you care about and choose Add alert on BTCUSDT at … (or press Alt + A).
- In Condition, leave the source on Price and choose Crossing Up or Crossing Down.
- Open Expiration and choose Open-ended if you do not want it to lapse.
- Open Notifications to choose a toast, a sound, a webhook or Telegram, then press Create.
Alerts are checked by SuperCharting on every incoming quote, so they keep working after you close the tab. The details are in price alerts.
A worked example
On BINANCE:BTCUSDT 15 minutes, add the two EMAs from the script above. When the orange 20-bar line crosses above the blue 50-bar line, many traders read that as a shift toward an uptrend, and the reverse as a shift down. Set a Crossing Up alert at the recent high, then press Replay (or Shift + R), click a bar from last week and play forward to see how often such crosses were followed through or reversed. This is practice for learning to read a chart, not a signal to trade.
If the chart does not look live
- The market is closed. Stocks stop at the last session's bar. Try a crypto chart.
- The symbol's feed does not carry live quotes. Some symbols and indices come from public data, which can lag.
- Second and tick charts start short. They are built from live quotes after someone watches the symbol, so a symbol nobody has watched has little history on those intervals. See second and tick charts.
- You are replaying. If the Replay toolbar is on, the chart is showing past bars. Exit the replay to return to the live bar.
Using it on a phone
The same account opens in a phone browser. The left drawing toolbar becomes a round Draw button, and the layout adapts to the narrow screen. See mobile charting.
Frequently asked questions
Is SuperCharting the same as other sites called Supercharts?
No. SuperCharting is supercharting.com. It is not connected with other sites, apps or products with similar names, so check the address if you are looking for one of those.
Is SuperCharting free?
It is currently free to use, with the same limits for every account. Paid plans may come later, and the account billing page shows the terms that apply.
Are the charts really live?
They update live when the market is open and the feed for that symbol allows. Outside market hours you see the last session's bars.
Can I run my own scripts for free?
Yes. The Script Editor accepts Pine-compatible scripts, shows errors with line numbers and adds the script to your chart. Most common scripts run, but not every feature behaves exactly as elsewhere, so check the plot.
